From 1991 to 1996 Gary Norris ran the in-house trial department for American States Insurance, so we know how an insurer decides to deny, delay or underpay a claim. What to Expect

Hiring us now ensures that your legal rights about your injury claim are protected. You will probably be contacted by an insurance company claims adjuster for the at-fault driver. They may offer you a very small sum of money now to settle your injury claim. They will also insist that you sign a paper that will allow them to get all your personal medical and employment records.

Don’t do either of these things! What the adjuster won’t tell you is that if you say yes to their small offer, you just permanently signed away all your legal rights and you are prevented from any further recovery, even if you find out later that you are hurt much worse than you first thought (which is very common). Signing the paper to allow them to get your records lets them dig into every little thing that happened in your life going back to the day you were born, which is none of their business.

When you hire us, we immediately contact the insurance company in writing. After that they can’t talk to you anymore. They have to go through us. We also immediately cancel any authorizations you may have signed. This protects your privacy, so that your claim can be settled fairly when YOU are ready, not on their terms.

Call us so we can help protect your legal rights. 503-472-3770.

What It Costs

We do not charge for the first consultation. And, if we do not recover for the client, there is no fee. Call 503-472-3770 to arrange it.

Insurance Claim Dispute Questions, Answered

Straight answers about insurance claim disputes in McMinnville and Yamhill County. We have handled them here since 1996. If yours is not here, ask us. The first conversation is free.

What if the other driver wasn’t insured?

You may be able to present your injury claim to your own insurance company. This is called an “uninsured motorist claim”. If your auto insurance policy was issued in Oregon, it has this coverage. The amount of coverage that may be available to you depends on many different factors. Our firm is highly experienced in presenting, settling and litigating uninsured motorist claims.

The other driver has some insurance, but not enough. My injuries are extensive and permanent. What can I do?

Your automobile policy may contain a provision for “underinsured motorist” coverage. This is similar to uninsured motorist coverage. Underinsured motorist coverage may provide additional insurance benefits beyond the other driver’s insurance limits. Whether this insurance applies is a question our firm can answer for our clients.

The other driver’s insurance company keeps calling me asking for a recorded statement. What do I do?

It’s still a free country. You don’t have to talk to them, but they don’t have to stop calling. And, adjusters can be pretty pushy and aggressive. Once you hire us, we immediately contact the at-fault party’s insurance company in writing, and instruct the claim representative to route all further communication through our office.
